Unfortunately for most people, there are times where life may throw you an unwanted curve ball. I experienced this my senior year in high school when I injured my knee and could not commit to playing football in college. This was especially devastating for me being that I trained my whole life for this and it was all lost in a matter of seconds. Being an offensive lineman training to play in college, I weighed significantly more than I should have, never really considering myself "fat" until this time. My mental state became very fragile after my injury and I suffered from depression, which is shown to be over 20% more likely in overweight people. For the first time in my high school career my grades weren't great and I wasn't being social. Negative life events are a leading cause of weight gain as well. As my weight was going up and grades were going down, I decided it was time to make a change.

For anyone who is reluctant to begin working out, realize that you have to start somewhere just like I did. I began my fitness journey on December 8th, 2011, the day after my 18th birthday. Fitness became a turning point in my life and I would like it to become one in yours as well. Adopting a healthy workout plan, diet, and mindset helped me lose 100 pounds in 5 months. Over these 5 months I worked every day to better myself in every aspect of my life. I was accepted into college
As I began to shed weight, I decided that I would enjoy to share the knowledge and expertise I had gained with others. I got my personal training certification from NASM and got a job training at Mase Fitness. During my time there I worked with hundreds of clients looking for a variety of types of training such as weight loss, athletic performance, and weight training. I trained under Eddie Mason, a former Washington Redskins linebacker who holds multiple training certifications. I adopted many of his views on motivation and what the mind can do for the body and how positive views can change your life.
Now as I near graduating from college, I am setting out on my own looking to grow my client base in the Northern Virginia area. I am very ambitious to share my wealth of knowledge and to help people change their lives.
